A degree in mathematics, a profound knowledge of literature don’t always go in tandem. In Mauni they do, stretching the literary horizons in ways that are unmatched. Finely honed stories, brilliantly conferring a sense of the bizarre on situations otherwise commonplace. This volume, in translation by Lakshmi Holmstrom, captures that intrinsic magic that’s Mauni
“. . . the only one who can stand at the extreme frontiers of the imagination and capture those concepts which have so far refused to be contained in words.”
